Observing Alex

Essays and poems on life, aesthetic, and society

Can I get you another cup of tea?
      It’s on me.
Oh, well in that case—
thank you

      A smile.

This is not uncommon in my world
Is it this way for others?
Stone cold—brothers, sisters
Shined to reflect

Shared but interpreted,
a separate regret

It steeps,
it spreads,
without the cup,
there is no end.
