An Introduction.
The first time I can remember really enjoying the writing process was back in the fall of 2014. I was in eighth grade and had an assignment to write an “I Believe” speech. I ended up writing my speech about the importance of reflection. In the speech, which I titled “Why I Think”, I describe the sense of calm that comes out of self-reflection and urge listeners to reserve a few minutes each day to reflect.
Up until now, I’ve kept a journal to help me be reflective. This journal has been great for me. Not only does it help me organize my thoughts, but I also enjoy writing in it. I’ve reached a point though, where I want to share my ideas. Because of this desire to share my thoughts, I’m starting this blog, “Observing Alex”.
“Observing Alex” is about stepping back, viewing my life as the audience, and analyzing my story. It’s my observations of myself, my experiences, and my interests, all recorded with the hope that someone else finds them helpful.
Or at the very least finds them interesting.
